The highlight of this itinerary is our visit to the Roman villas under the church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo al Celio

These three IInd and IIIrd century Roman villas at one point were turned into middle-class residences and later into a christian church. In the villas we can still see many paintings.

On our tour we will also visit the church of Santo Stefano Rotondo. Its architecture is inspired by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Santo Stefano Rotondo will capture your attention because of its unusual form, its plain appearance and its XVIth century frescoes by Pomarancio. We will then continue on to the church of Santa Maria in Domnica to see its beautiful XIVth century mosaic. Not far are the Arch of Dolabella, the remains of the aqueduct built by emperor Claudius and above all Villa Celimontana, a small yet lovely Roman park. Through this visit you will discover the Caelian Hill and its ancient and medieval vestiges.

The visit include : church of Santa Maria in Domnica, Villa Celimontana, Roman villas beneath the church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo al Celio and the church of Santo Stefano Rotondo. Visits are available every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Entrance to the Roman villas 6,50 euro per person.
