In the city you will mainly find shopping streets, mostly around the historical
center. The stores are open Mondays through Saturdays form 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., some are also
open on Sundays.
Piazza di Spagna area - on the adjacent streets you will find Gucci, Dior, D&G,
Armani, Valentino, Prada, Louis Vuitton. Via del Corso offers (Energie, Diesel,
Strada, Calvin Klein). On Via del Babuino you will find many antique stores and
on Via Margutta different art galleries.
St. Peter area - Main shopping streets are Via Candia (reasonable prices), Via
Ottaviano and especially Via Cola di Rienzo, that leads up to Via del Corso
(about 1 and a half km). On Via Cola di Rienzo you will find Coin, a four-story
department store that offers clothing and footwear for men, women and children.
San Giovanni area - The best place to go is on the beginning of Via Appia (Appian
Way). You can get there by subway (line A, San Giovanni stop). You will mostly
find clothing.
Termini station area - Main shopping streets are Via Nazionale and the streets
around the church of Santa Maria Maggiore.
Area around Piazza Vittoria (10 minutes from the train station) - here you will
find the cheapest stores in the city, the department store Mas and many Chinese,
Indian and Arab stores.
Markets
Porta Portese - every Sunday morning is the biggest flea market in the city. It
is in the Trastevere district; it starts in the morning until about 2 p.m.
Via Sannio - clothing and footwear market, it offers both new and second hand merchandise and sometimes you can even find
store brands. It is in the San Giovanni area
Borghetto Flaminio - You will find over 250 stands that sell antiques, jewelry,
vintage clothing. The market is open every Sunday from 10
a.m. to 7 p.m. not far from Piazza del Popolo,
Soffitto sotto i Portici - Every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. under the
porticoes of Piazza Augusto Imperatore (between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di
Spagna) stands sell antique
furniture, small objects and magazines.
Intervision - this market takes place every Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.,
on Via del Serafico 3 in the EUR district . you will find both
antique and modern furniture, antique toys...
