This guided tour will take you from the Sistine Chapel  to St. Peter's basilica , on a visit of the Vatican Museums and its beautiful works of art.

Given indipendence in 1929 with the Lateran Treaty, the State of the Vatican City is the smallest country in the world but it is of great cultural significance, home to some of the most famous art in the world.

We will see the Sistine Chapel: its ceiling, on which Michelangelo Buonarroti painted The Last Judgement, and the wall frescoes where artists such as Botticelli, Perugino, Rosselli, Ghirlandaio and Signorelli depicted the lives of Jesus and Moses. We will also walk through the Museum passing by the galleries and the courts yards with magnificent views of the Vatican gardens. Inside St. Peter's basilica we will admire the Pietà, commissioned to Michelangelo by Cardinal Jean de Bilhères, and the tombs of many Popes, by artists such as Canova, Giacomo della Porta and Bernini. Finally we will step out on St. Peter's Square, enclosed in Bernini's magnificent colonnade.

The visit include :  Sistine Chapel, Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of the Tapestries, Gallery of the Maps, St. Peter's basilica, Michelangelo's Pietà. Entrance to the Vatican Museums 14,00 euro + cost of audio- guide (mandatory for groups of over seven people).
