Rome is connected by
a network of public transportation that includes buses, trams and two
subway lines. Bus tickets and subway tickets are the same and must be
purchased in advance. They are available in every subway station,
tobacco shop and newsstand, and there are also many ticket
distributors next to the main bus stops. Tickets are rarely sold on
the buses.
Roma pass: This particular ticket costs 20 euro and is valid for three days. It allows unlimited use of buses and subways, 2 free entrances to museums of your choice and discounts for every other monument or museum (with the ecxeption of the the Vatican, it is a different country). This ticket isn't recommended to members of the CEE who are under 18 or over 65, as entrance to museums is already free of charge; for these people the 3-day-ticket costs 11 euro. You will find these tickets directly in museums. Taxi: You will
find taxi ranks in front of Termini Station, at the exit of the
Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, and at the main tourist spots in
Rome. You can also call a taxi at one of the following numbers:
06-5551, 06-3570, 06-6645, 06-4994, 06- 88177. When you call a cab,
the fare will start running when you accept the waiting time they give
you. Do not forget to check the taxi rates which should be posted on
the back of the front seat. Taxi cabs in Rome are white. The fare from
Fiumicino airport to Rome is 40 euro and from Ciampino airport to Rome
it is 30 euro. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
