The Camposanto is a
Medieval monumental cemetery considered unique for its cycle of XIV-XVII
c. frescoes. It was a cultural must
for European travellers to come and visit this marvellous collection on
what was called the ‘Grand Tour’ till the end of the XIX. In July 1944, due to a
bombing, the 40% of the original frescoes was destroyed and later partly
restored. a visit to the Camposanto where, thanks to a
sophisticated and meticulous restoration, some of the frescoes have been
recently displayed on their original position Entrance fees:- not included - 3 monuments: (Cathedral, Museum of the Sinopie and Opera Museum): € 8,00 March to October / € 6.00 November to February
